Tennessee Busted Mugshots is a private reference service, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody or release, provide or remove a booking photo, post bond, or retrieve an official record. The agency or publisher that holds a record must answer questions about its contents and status.
Where Tennessee Records Are Held
The right contact depends on which record is needed. A county sheriff or jail keeps booking information, the arresting police department may keep its incident report, and a court clerk holds filings and case outcomes. The County Directory routes a reader to the county site that can identify the current local records office.
- For a county booking record or photo, identify the county and contact its sheriff or jail records coordinator. The Tennessee booking-record hub explains what to request.
- For an arrest or incident report, contact the police department or sheriff's office that made the arrest. A city department may hold a report that is separate from the county jail booking file.
- For a plea, dismissal, sentence, or other result, ask the trial-court clerk in the county where the case was heard. Tennessee's Public Case History portal searches appellate matters, not every local criminal case.
- For a state felony offender profile or photo, use the Tennessee Department of Correction's FOIL search. Current department records requests go through TDOC Media and Records Requests.
- For federal prison custody, use the Bureau of Prisons locator; it has no public booking-photo feature. Immigration custody is handled by ICE's separate detainee locator.
- For a copied post on a private publisher, send a correction or disposition request to that publisher and include the official supporting record. This reference site cannot remove a page from another service.
